Paris Je T’Aime:
Misael’s (M’Patron contributor) review - I personaly liked it even more that Misael. For me, 4.75/5 stars. Likely a strong contender to make it into my top ten of the year.
List of directors: Olivier Assayas, Frédéric Auburtin, Emmanuel Benbihy, Gurinder Chadha, Sylvain Chomet, Joel and Ethan Coen, Isabel Coixet, Wes Craven, Alfonso Cuarón, Gérard Depardieu, Christopher Doyle, Richard LaGravenese, Vincenzo Natali, Alexander Payne, Bruno Podalydès, Walter Salles, Oliver Schmitz, Nobuhiro Suwa, Daniela Thomas, Tom Tykwer, Gus Van Sant
The Spanish girl I couldn’t remember is Catalina Sandino Moreno and she is most recognizable as a fairly main character in Fast Food Nation
Two other collections of short by great directors mentioned:
The first is the BMW commercials known as “The Hire Series” all starring Clive Owen but directed by various directors are no longer available for purchase or download (legally). I did manage to find a couple on YouTube, but not embeddable. Here are the links…
Chosen: Ang Lee
Ambush: John Frankenheimer
Star: Guy Ritchie
The second is the collection of shorts produced exclusively for the 60th Anniversary of The Cannes Film Festival. Read the story and purchase links HERE

Great show like always guys. *Got mentioned again
*
I have yet to see Severance and have avoided it because I can’t STAND Danny Dyer. His accent in particular does my head in! But after you saying that it is at least worthwhile I will put up with that imbocile
Paris Je T’Aime I recuctantly have to admit that I hadn’t even heard of until I saw your review Andrew. But after reading that and watching the trailer I am highly anticipating it. Shame that I won’t get a chance (probably) until the DVD release of it.
I was kinda dissapointed…it was only a little over an hour. I still loved the show, though, and can’t wait to see pari Je’taime after what you guys had to say about it.
Since you liked the short films bit so much, I highly recommend “Thirty Two Short Films About Glenn Gould”. The entire film is directed by François Girard but each film is so different, it’s hard to believe it all comes from one guy’s head. Highly recommended.
Congrats on the 50th show!
Heh. I know that film, Marina, nice call. And Canadian to boot.
Hi
I was enjoying the show then it suddenly cut out at 45mins. What happened?
Also…just wondering if you guys had caught the latest Guy Pearce movie, First Snow. It came and went pretty quickly, but I am curious to hear your thoughts on it sometime.
Unfortunately I have not seen it. You’re right, it came and went pretty quickly. No word yet on a DVD release.
as for the show cutting out on you… not sure. Which format were you using? Were you streaming it here or did you download or through iTunes? Haven’t heard this complaint on this show. Not sure what happened. Sorry about that. Try re-downloading it from here and it should work…
New show up sometime Tuesday night (already recorded).
I downloaded it using Juice, a podcast receiver.
I’ll try again later.
