Well, this looks promising…

Technically not movie related, but oh well. “Terminator: The Sarah Connors Chronicles” premiers on Fox for two nights on Jan. 13th and 14th. From worstpreviews, the show focusses on Sarah; Tired of fleeing from both killers from the future and law officers in the present day, Sarah Connor resolves to go on the offensive against whatever new technological enemies may travel back in time trying to murder her 15-year-old son, John. who is destined to become the savior of mankind. Sarah and John find unexpected allies in Cameron, an enigmatic student at John’s school, and FBI agent James Ellison.
Lovin’ the new poster for Get Smart - the redux of the popular 60’s television show. You know it’s Steve Carrell in the movie, so we don’t need to see his face in favor of the much more fetching Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway). I love how the poster concedes comedy and gives us a great idea of what the movie will be like (Maxwell Smart figuratively being shat upon throughout the entire picture) instead of focussing on popularity and star power. From everything I’ve seen about this movie so far, all signs point to great fun.

If you’ve not seen the teaser trailer yet, it’s worth a look - - you can see it by unwrapping the text below…
I have yet to see The Pang Brothers original version of The Eye, (IMDb) even though I own it and I’ve heard nothing but good things about it. I know they did great things visually with Re-Cycle (MP review), so I’m excited to see The Eye. I am not excited however to see the upcoming remake (tentative release of Feb 1, 2008) starring Jessica Alba. I’m so tired of American versions of great Asian films.
However, the new one-sheet has got kind of a nice feel to it. Creepy and wince-worthy at the same time. Have a look and let us know what you think. It doesn’t make me want to see the film, but it’s still kind of a cool poster if you ask me.

The first domestic version of the one-sheet for Guillermo Del Toro produced, The Orphanage, has hit the web. The poster doesn’t do much for me, but it does reek of Guillermo Del Toro’s style, even if he’s not directing. New man in town, Juan Antonio Bayona will be taking the reins for this one and it looks to be very much in the same vein as Del Toro’s The Devil’s Backbone. Of course, this is just the feel I get from the poster, so we’ll have to wait and see until some footage is released. In the meantime, here’s the marketing shot (click image for hi-res)…

Just a few new posters for the highly anticipated new Coen Brothers film ‘No Country For Old Men’. Check them out below:
I prefer the first one over the other two, how ’bout you?
After the disaster that was AvP, I had little hope or desire to see the sequel. Well, that feeling is still there, but the red band trailer and this new poster do look slightly cool and do pique a little interest. Well, the trailer has been out for a while, but this new poster is sort of a cool idea. Not ultra-clever, but groovy none the less. You can check out the violent as hell red band after the unwrap.

I had heard of this film a long time ago but had totally forgotten about it. Then I came across the poster for it (shown below) and decided to see if there was anything else released for it. And sure enough there is already a trailer online (also shown below). I think this looks like a lot of fun, check it out:

Like I said I think this looks like a lot of fun. Everything about it is just so cute and adorable (I’m guessing that’s what they are aiming for) and the trailer put a big smile on my face. This is now firmly on my most anticipated list, it’s nice to see a film like this every once in a while (I really hope they don’t go too far down the cheesy, “aimed totally at the kids” road). I hope it’s one that all age groups can appreciate in different ways.
On a side note does anyone else think these two things?:
1. This should be directed by Tim Burton.
2. The character Hoffman plays, looks more suited to someone like Christopher Walken.
Anyway I can’t wait for this.
At Toronto After Dark, there have been two zombie films announced already to take place as a double bill immediately following the zombie pub crawl. Both look fairly good. Although let’s be honest, any zombie movie is a good zombie movie. So to my delight, a meesage in my inbox tonight from John Allison alerted me to a zombie trifecta!
The Zombie Diaries looks to be shot totally on hand held, shaky cam (which could be a problem) in sort of a documentary style; much like Blair Witch Project. A virus has engulfed the planet and when people die, they are reanimated as zombies. Sounds like fun to me. In fact, over on facebook, I just joined the group, “The hardest part of a zombie apocalypse is pretending I’m not excited.”

I like the poster. With the motion blur, it appears to be a fast paced film (is that Tom Cruise?). If the poster and synopsis doesn’t convince you, have a look at the trailer. It’s pretty intense with a nice visual style…
I wasn’t able to track down exactly when The Zombie Diaries is due to hit theaters or DVD. My guess is though that it will be difficult to track down as it is fairly independent. Look for it on the festival circuit though - I know it’s playing in Austin at the fest down there and those of you in the UK can already pick up the DVD at amazon.co.uk. I’ll keep my eyes peeled for more local screenings. If I learn anything I’ll let you know.
There has certainly been more than one poster released for 3:10 To Yuma and here is another one to add to the pile.

Personally I don’t think any matches this one but I still really dig this poster none the less. If I’m not mistaken, this is the first where we actually see the actors faces, what do you think?
I just love when new posters for films are released, especially for films I am looking forward to. Here are a few I have just found (click to enlarge):

I‘m getting a little tired of the “weathered” look that seems to be so much of a trend lately in movie one sheets. But this one I really like a lot: The Strangers. It really gives a sense of creepy helplessness. The coffe cup stain in the upper left is a nice touch…

The second poster could be my favorite poster of the year (except for that second 3:10 to Yuma poster). It looks like the cover of a book and although it showcases Clooney in all his greatness, I dig how they make him totally out of focus and concentrate on the title of the film. The poster breaks two of my personal rules for a great poster: words too big and the main actor’s face too big. But the way this one is pulled of I really can get behind.

Again, I hate this series and will not be suckered in to giving Lionsgate anymore money, but to those that are interested, here’s the new one-sheet:

Beyond Hollywood has put up an early poster for the next Frank Miller movie The Spirit and I hate to say it but it looks too much like a Sin City poster.

If you are wondering about the reflection in the picture it looks like the poster is a photo taken from Comic-Con.
Found the new poster for the newest Tim Burton film, Sweeny Todd, over at Depp Impact. My one word review of the poster… intriguing.

I might not be the biggest fan of the movies but I’m going to give bonus points to this poster for originality. I enjoyed Saw and Saw 2 but never felt the need to see Saw 3. Now we have another poster for Saw 4 and the studio has told us that Saw 5 and 6 will be coming. I really think they are beating a dead horse here now.
No matter what though I do think the poster is quite original and almost humorous. I’d never put it up on a wall but its still kind of cool.
