Here are the final results for the 2nd Annual MoviePatron.com Reader's Choice Awards. These are the nominees and winners as chosen by YOU: the readers and Cinecast subscribers. Thanks for voting. We had a total of 289 ballots received (less than last year...hmmm) so now you finally had your voice heard on the best and worst in film achievement for 2006 in the only award show that means absolutely nothing!
We've included a "not sure/no vote" check box for each category if you don't wish to vote for any of the nominees. So realize that not everyone voted in each category. The only required category is "Best/Favorite Picture."
Since it is not required that you see all or any of the films, these results are probably skewed to the more popular films. But hey, who cares!? For the most part, you guys got it right (in my opinion).
Studios will be informed of this prestigious honor shortly after March 1st. Come back next year for another round of nominees and ballots for 2007!

If you're interested, HERE are Last Year's Results.

Captain Jack Sparrow (Pirates 2) (111)

BEST CAST:
Inside Man
The Prestige
A Scanner Darkly
Little Miss Sunshine (2nd place)
The Departed (171)
- - biggest landslide victory. This wasn't even close. Scanner Darkly got like 7 votes, while Prestige and Inside Man were just barely in the teens.

MOST DISAPPOINTING:
You, Me & Dupree
Click
Lady in the Water
Superman Returns (2nd place)

BEST DOCUMENTARY:
Wordplay

An Inconvenient Truth (2nd place)
NOT SURE/NO VOTE (88)
- - this was a weird category. More people chose to not vote. I can only assume this means Jesus Camp or This Film is not Yet Rated should have been nominated?

BEST SOUNDTRACK:
Half Nelson
Stranger than Fiction
The Fountain
Notes on a Scandal
Babel (2nd place)
NOT SURE/NO VOTE (110)
- - again, seriously? This must mean NOT SURE as opposed to something that wasn't nominated. Because Babel and Notes were the obvious choices (unless you want pop tracks, then Half Nelson is a no-brainer).

MOST ORIGINAL FILM:
Tristram Shandy: A Cock and Bull Story
The Fountain
The Science of Sleep
Babel (2nd place)
Thank You for Smoking (58)
- - This is only because not many people saw Science of Sleep or Tristram Shandy

WORST PERFORMANCE:
Nicolas Cage
Rob Schneider
Wayans Brothers (2nd place)
Jessica Simpson (129)
- - also a major landslide. Wayans and Cage both had votes in the 30s and "not vote" had a bunch as well.

BEST FOREIGN LANGUAGE:
L'Enfant
Volver
Lady Vengeance
Apocalypto (2nd place)
Pan's Labyrinth (123)

BEST TRAILER:
Superman Returns
The Devil Wears Prada
Borat
MI3
Rocky Balboa (2nd place)
Casino Royale (95)
- - Surprising. I thought Borat would take this easily. Shows what I know. I voted for Prada myself.

BEST FILM TITLE:
This Film is not Yet Rated
Thank You for Smoking
Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby
Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Great nation of Kazakhstan (2nd place)
Snakes on a Plane (108)

WRITE-IN AWARD:
Here was your chance to vote for any star, movie celebrity (anyone) that you wanted to. Although we had more votes in this category than last year, it still seems not many people are interested or don't understand this category (while it's my favorite). The votes were far more spread out this year. Though I'm disappointed in the winner it's still fun and there were some great votes. Here are all the submissions in order of number of votes cast, then in order they were received. Winner at the bottom...

Kevin Smith (9)
Paul Giamatti (7)
Leo DiCaprio (4)
The Queen (3)
Little Miss Sunshine (3)
Pirates 2 (2)
Christpher Nolan (2)
Daniel Craig (2)
Woody Allen
Martin Scorsese
Daniel Craig
Adriana Barazza
Marie Antoinette (The movie, not the person obviously)
Kate Winslett
Ishiro Honda
Snow Cake (I'm excited about this film - nice vote whoever you are **cough-**Ashley**)
Children of Men
Peter O'Toole
Giovanni Ribisi
Alexandre Desplat
Will Smith
Nathan Fillion (nice!)
Devil Wears Prada
Brad Pitt (for Babel)
Land of the Blind (sorry Seikan, no one seconded it)
Robert DeNiro
Jack Nicholson
Rian Johnson (writer/dir of Brick) - nice vote
Edward Norton
Djimon Honsou
Bruce Campbell (haha! Hell YES!)
Letters from Iwo Jima
Ellen Paige
Jason Statham
Johnny Depp (12)
